ZiaSat, Inc. was founded in early 2010 to bring small satellite manufacturing and services to Albuquerque, New Mexico—a major hub of talent and R&D for the sector. As a Veteran-Owned business, we know our customers well, because we were those customers just a few short years ago.  A lot has changed in the tech world over the last two decades, but satellite manufacturing remains largely the same: hundreds of millions of dollars per satellite, long schedules, expected delays, heavy and expensive launches, and tax dollars wasted.

ZiaSat is different.  We leverage the latest technologies and manufacturing techniques that were pioneered by the mass-market personal computer industry, and build our satellites in much the same way.  We utilize mass produced components, many of which are commercial-off-the-shelf and assemble satellites in days and weeks–not years–and for a fraction of the cost.

Albuquerque and surrounding communities are at the forefront in pioneering many of the enabling technologies–including Space Plug-and-Play Avionics–that allow for quick design, build, test, and production times.  The ZiaSat team is working with city, state, and federal officials to make New Mexico not just the ‘Go-To’ place for satellite R&D, but also the innovative manufacturing and services associated with small satellites. Right here in the Land of Enchantment.
